IICSN believes that establishing and promoting regular communication with parents is a vital element for developing a strong school. We realize that communication is a key factor in parents feeling connected to the school and to their children during the academic day. In order to regularly let parents know what is happening school-wide, newsletters, flyers, phone calls, and special event reminders are posted and sent home. Educators at IICSN take great pride in keeping families involved and knowledgeable in what happens in their classrooms. To promote communication between the classroom teachers and families, varied correspondences are used, including: phone calls, conferences, daily and/or weekly progress reports, and informal meetings. Our teachers also host individual pages on the school's website, noting what is going on in the classrooms as well as posting weekly grades. This year, we added special events such as Science Night, Art Fair, choral concerts, Open House, and Science Fair presentations. Finally, to let the community know what is happening at the school, newsletters, flyers, special events, and personal tours of the school are given to those who are interested.
