Scott ES provides for regular two-way and meaningful communication with parents, family and community, by providing a newsletter which is sent home on the first of each month. We utilize the district's ParentLink communication system to notify parents of monthly activities, events or important information that needs to arrive at each home. All teachers provide a parent conference schedule for parents to come to school to discuss the academic performance of their children. All staff are available for appointments, as needed, to address concerns or questions about the curriculum or individual student's progress. Teachers upload their grades to ParentLink weekly to help keep parents informed of their child's progress. Progress Reports are sent home monthly. We hold the Academic Family Nights throughout the year to help parents understand the curriculum at each grade level. We also provide several family activities such as Family Movie Night, McDonald's McTeacher Night, Fall Carnival and Family Game Night. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to volunteer in the classrooms, and many parents participate.
