Thomas J. O'Roarke Elementary School provides multiple opportunities for two-way and meaningful communication with parents, family and community members. Parents receive monthly newsletters highlighting important information and upcoming events. The school website is consistently updated to inform parents of schedules, general information, school and PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) events, links to district information, as well as links for students. Parents and community members may access this website to contact administration or teachers directly. Many teachers have established their own web pages to provide additional classroom details. Parents utilize ParentLink to access attendance and grading information. The school staff uses ParentLink to provide announcements and reminders to parents. The administration has an open-door policy to meet with parents and community members to address any issues. The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) meets regularly and provides on-going support to students, staff and administration. The PTO and the school work collaboratively to plan events, fund resources and assist in achieving school-wide initiatives. Parent volunteers and community members are welcomed at O'Roarke Elementary School.
