Parents are kept informed of events, school-wide activities and new programs at the school through a weekly newsletter written by the principal. In addition, teachers send home classroom newsletters on a regular basis. Parents are kept informed of their child's progress through progress reports and postings on ParentLink. Conferences are held to review interim assessment data, academic progress and behavior(s). Parents can also communicate with teachers and the administration through e-mail. The school website provides parents with information about school events, links to supplemental resources and links to textbooks used for literacy, math and science. Parents serve on a variety of school committees including the Empowerment Board, School Generated Funds Committee and School Safety. Parents are very active and involved as over 200 parents a week volunteer throughout the school. The Wallin PTA is very active sponsoring activities such as Fall Festival, Take Your Dad to Lunch Day, Reflections and a Health Fair.
