West End provides communication to parents and community through monthly newsletters, email and telephone. Additionally, many teachers send home weekly newsletters. Parent/teacher conferences are held twice a year and report cards/progress reports are sent home quarterly. State testing and any additional notices are mailed. Parents are called to inform them of any positive or negative important incidents. Quarterly Award Assemblies recognize students for citizen of the quarter, honor roll, attendance and “Happy Grams”. Monthly parent night/activities are scheduled to help keep parents actively involved in their child’s academic achievements. West End also has an active Parent Teacher Organization that supports our students and teachers and a Parent Involvement Committee that sets up our room parents and tutoring program. West End also has many volunteers that work in classrooms on weekly schedules.
