<"The district recognizes that all individual school and district improvement goals can only be met through the dedicated commitment to student learning by the professionals employed with the district, along with continued support of parent involvement and community backing. Open house activities and conference days are scheduled to give parents and teachers opportunities to meet and discuss student progress. Parents are routinely invited to celebrate the successes of their students through academic and extra-curricular award ceremonies, along with other regularly scheduled programs and activities presented district wide. Informational events such as Open House & Back to School Night familiarize parents with the staff and curriculum. All schools welcome and appreciate parents and community members that routinely volunteer their time and talents to improved educational and extra-curricular opportunities for our students within the district. Information about district activities, school announcements, and student grades and attendance is available through the district and schools’ websites in addition to the PowerSchool student information system, and e-mail communication. Periodic surveys are sent to parents in an effort to determine where improvement is needed within the schools and the district. Quarterly honor roll and perfect attendance lists from all schools are published in the local newspaper along with articles featuring leadership events, classroom happenings, featured field trips and sports highlights.

<"The district is very fortunate in that local business groups have always been supportive of school sponsored endeavors such as athletic programs, individual group fundraising events, hosting students in work-study programs, and offering job shadowing opportunities. There are thousands of dollars of scholarship money offered to high school graduates annually by local entities. Student leadership groups district-wide give back to the community through on-going service projects such as fundraising for Relay for Life, initiating food drives, and visiting and volunteering at the Senior Citizen Center, nursing home, and hospital. The partnership between hard working students, parents, and local businesses allows for the successful continuation of these types of projects. Family involvement and community support is recognized as the foundation for student success in all district sponsored academic and extra-curricular programs.
