Communication
All facets of communication are of utmost importance within HCSD. The district is working to provide schools with time for PLC meetings, staff meetings, and the development of action plans focused on increasing parental and community involvement at each site. All K-6 teachers meet with parents twice annually on a formal basis with 3 minimum days in the fall and spring. This is in addition to parent contacts including progress reports and conferences as needed. Lowry High School implemented parent teacher conferences during the year to allow time for staff and parents to meet about student needs. Powerschool continues to allow parents and students access to attendance and grade information 24 hours a day. The district continues to use School Messenger tomatically call parents about important meetings, school events, attendance issues, and other uses based on site need. HCSD is also revising the district website with the goal of providing easily accessible information in a timely manner to all stakeholders. The district continues to utilize the Communications/Public Relations position to address communication with all stakeholders. This led to the creation of 2 monthly district newsletters that informs the entire community about current events, celebrations, upcoming events as well as monthly editions of the “Pipeline” to get pertinent information out to all stakeholders.
