The Eureka County School District encourages parent communication and involvement in the education of their students in the District. We believe there is an important relationship between the school system, parents/guardians, and the community that must exist in order for students to maximize their achievements. In addition to the regular periodic reporting and communication to parents on student achievement, the elementary schools have scheduled two formal parent conference days. The conferences are used to set goals and expectations in the fall, and to follow up on the achievement of the goals in the spring. Newsletters, emails, letters and phone calls from the office and the classrooms keep parents up to date. Parents are the first and most influential teachers their children have. We are their partners helping them to educate their children. In Eureka County School District, parents have a voice in the important decisions of the district. They were involved in the implementation of a 4-day school week in Eureka, and serve on many steering and advisory committees.
