Mission Statement
Coral Academy of Science provides a safe learning environment, supported by a diverse community, and a student body that is dedicated to a rigorous college preparatory curriculum.
 
Highlights
Coral Academy of Science (CAS) became a K-12 school this year by adding grades K and 1 .The school continued to progress towards its goals and objectives with many success stories in two campuses:
  • The new elementary building, the gym additions, new asphalts and landscaping enhanced the student lives and opportunities.
  • HS students received many places in Jr. Duck Stamp Contest. Works of many students were chosen for the Fair Housing calendar.
  • 4th Annual Multicultural Dinner, Dine in Tokyo, attracted more than one hundred student and parents and raised money for gym.
  • MS Science Olympiads team placed 2nd and HS team placed 4th in state wide Science Olympiads.
  • The 4th MathMatters Competition, sponsored by CAS, gathered over one hundred brilliant 4th and 5th graders to the school.
  • Middle School MathCounts team successfully competed in the Annual MathCounts Competition.
  • SimCity teams placed 3rd and 5th at the regional SimCity Future Cities competition.
  • MS Robotics team received the Innovative Solution Award at the International FIRST Robotics Competition in Las Vegas.
  • 9.      CAS continued to hold its accreditation with commendations status with Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
To decrease the achievement gaps in reading, writing and math proficiency levels.

Objective(s):
To reduce the number of non proficient students in reading, writing and math  by at least 10% as measured by State CRTs.

Goal 2
To employ more effective instructional strategies in teaching and learning to increase the academic rigor.

Objective(s):
1: Addressing high level of thinking skills in planning and instruction.
2: Teaching reading and writing skills in all content areas.
3: Introducing new teaching techniques in reading like Pre-Post Reading Focusing activity.

Goal 3
To enhance offerings and programs for high school students.

Objective(s):
1: Increase Elective offerings.
2: Increase the number of Advanced Placement Courses.
3: Implement Math, English and ESL remediation programs to reduce the achievement gap among the students.
