To provide quality Montessori education in an environment that encourages a child’s love of learning and respect for self, others, community and the world. |

This year we increased enrollment from 130 to 215, adding 4 classes and 8 teachers. We began a middle school program with the addition of grade 6.- SSMCS was awarded a federal CSP grant of approximately $240,000 for a two-year period, 2010-2012.
- A SSMCS PTO was approved by the Board and has been actively supporting the school’s mission with special events.
- Raised garden beds for each class and a garden curriculum were developed with the help of community volunteers.
- A computer lab has been developed.
- A student council has been created and is involved in several projects to enrich the school.
- Our partnership with Ethel M’s Cactus Gardens has been expanded to include all Upper Elementary students.
- Instructional materials have been added to each classroom in Mathematics and Reading for consistency across the grades.
- All licensed staff members have either completed or are in the process of Montessori training.
- Montessori seminars have been provided for parents.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Learners will be provided with the opportunity to achieve proficiency in Reading, Mathematics, Writing, and Science.
Objective(s): Maintain the school-wide proficiency rate of 75% in Reading as measured by CRTs. Increase the proficiency rate in Mathematics by five percentage points as measured by CRTs.
Goal 2 Every student will receive quality instruction and learning experiences.
Objective(s): Increase the percentage of teachers and support teachers with some Montessori training to 100%.
