The Davidson Academy is a unique public school for profoundly gifted students grouped by ability rather than age.The school operates with a team-based staff led by a director. During the past year:- Enrollment increased from 91 to 123 students, including students moving to Reno from around the country to attend.
- The Academy had 8 students in its first graduating class in May 2009; 6 graduated in May 2010; 5 graduated in May 2011.
- The Class of 2011 included three National Merit Finalists and one Presidential Scholars Program nominee.
- Accreditation was granted through the Northwest Accreditation Commission. NWAC visit was scheduled for May 2011.
- The Final Pupil Enrollment and Attendance Audit reported no findings or recommendations for the 2009-2010 audit year.
- 82% of Academy students who took AP exams earned scores of 4 or 5; the remaining 17% earned a score of 3.
- Students performed well in various competitions: MathCounts, Biology Olympiad, spelling and geography bees, and others.
- Community Crusaders student volunteers helped local groups, including Food Bank of Northern NV and Ronald McDonald House.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Operate in a manner that is consistent with NRS 392A while maintaining AYP and High-Achieving designation.
Objective(s): Submit required reports and information with approved alterations as needed. Consult with Superintendent of Public Instruction and other state representatives as needed to review procedures and develop guidelines.
Goal 2 Address NWAC indicators in preparation for the May 2011 Review Team Evaluation.
Objective(s): Participate in accreditation process activities and reports. Comply with the report and recommendations for next steps as provided by NWAC.
