Mission Statement
The Washoe County School District sets out to create an education system where all students achieve academic success, develop personal and civic responsibility, and achieve career and college readiness for the 21st century.
 
Highlights
Damonte Ranch is proud of its 9-12 configuration offering challenging academic and extra curricular opportunities.
  • Damonte Ranch increased its overall graduation rate by 10% in one year.
  • The Freshman class increased its success rate of credit accrual by 12%.
  • Damonte Ranch acheived the top average daily attendance for the Washoe County School District.
  • DRHS, along with 36 community agencies, presented "Every Fifteen Minutes," a two day educational experience for all.
  • Student Leadership was one of 144 schools nationwide to earn the 2011 National Gold Council of Excellence Award.
  • The Drama Department produced 11 incredible productions in one year.
  • Five Damonte Ranch head coaches were named Northern Nevada Coach of the Year.
  • The NIAA Recognized a DRHS female student as the Athlete of the Year for the state of Nevada, one of only two awarded.”
  • The NIAA recognized a Damonte Ranch student as one of the top ten scholar athletes for the state of Nevada.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
All students will increase their performance in ELA and Math achievement as measured by state and district exams.

Objective(s):
To make progress toward the HSPE achievement goal we will increase the percentage of all demographic groups in grades 10 and 11 who meet or exceed the standard on the HSPE exams by 2% or achieve safe harbor as measured by NCLB.

Goal 2
Damonte Ranch will continue to increase the honors and advanced placement participation and performance.

Objective(s):
Damonte Ranch will continue to increase honors and advanced placement participation and performance by 3%.

Goal 3
Damonte Ranch will continue to increase its freshman credit accrual, earning 5 or more credits in a school year.

Objective(s):
Damonte Ranch will increase freshman credit accrual by 2%, from 89% to 91%.
