Mission Statement
The Washoe County School District sets out to create an education system where all students achieve academic success, develop personal and civic responsibility, and achieve career and college readiness for the 21st century.
 
Highlights
TMCC H.S. made progress toward meeting school improvement goals; achieved Exemplary status under No Child Left Behind; increased participation in extra-curricular activities and parent engagement.
  • Increased graduation rate from 94% to 95%, decreased transiency rate by 6% and achieved 100% HSPE passage rate for Seniors
  • Increased minority enrollment from 20% to 26% and increased college course completion rate from 89% to 90%
  • School received Silver Star Award from Student Councils of Nevada
  • Government class students hosted Civic Expo including candidates’ forums for all those running for office in Northern Nevada
  • Featured on local news stations for innovative Career Day involving alternative energy companies
  • 95% of competitors placed in 7 different categories in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State conference
  • Principal named, “Northern Region Advisor of the Year” by Nevada FBLA
  • Principal named, “Administrator of the Year” by Nevada Association of School Counselors
  • Students initiated community service projects; collected 500 pairs of shoes for the needy through Think Kindness initiative
