Hug High School is an amazing community that believes in the intrinsic goodness and value of every child! We continue to pursue our dream of equity and social justice for all of the students we serve.- Hug became the first high school in Nevada history to work its’ way off the NCLB failing school list.
- Hug successfully met AYP for the second consecutive year by reducing the failure rate of every sub-group by at least 10%.
- The Hug/UNR collaborative, Nevada A.S.C.E.N.T., has supported the highest college enrollment in Hug's 40-year school history.
- Hug High School qualified as a Title 1 school providing approximately $500,000 additional dollars to support students.
- Hug High School has reduced the failure rate of 9th graders by at least 10% in support of the WCSD Blue Print.
- RTI (Response to Intervention) has become an integral part of Hug's support mechanism for all students.
- PBS (Positive Behavior Supports) are being implemented in each small school to reinforce student behaviors.
- The Hug faculty contiues to make strides, implementing best practices, to ensure rigorous education for ALL students.
- Congratulations to Hug athletics! Football/Women's Bball advanced to playoffs. Men's Bball won Northern Zone Championship.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Hug High School will meet or exceed the testing participation requirements for AYP.
Objective(s): Fully utilize small schools to create safety nets ensuring an increase in student attendance. Improve teaching practices to maximize student engagement through curriculum relevance. Continued use of Edline and ConnectEd in both English/Spanish as communication tools for parents.
Goal 2 Hug High School will meet or exceed the HSPE ELA achievement target.
Objective(s): Administer common finals in all courses to ensure appropriate backwards planning and improve use of short term formative assessments.
Goal 3 Hug High School will meet the HSPE Math Achievement target.
Objective(s): All Hug 9th graders enrolled in Algebra or higher. All Hug 10th graders enrolled in Geometry or higher. All students required to take four years of math. "Academic Success" used as a tool to support mathematics achievement.Use "Algebraic Thinking" as a teacher tool.
