Kendyl Depoali Diamondbacks is a PBS/RTI School Site that teaches the whole student using the schoolwide expectations of Strength, Tolerance, Responsibility, Integrity, Knowledge, & Empathy.- In our second year, we are the largest middle school in the district with 1154 students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade.
- We accepted the nomination for the secondary representative model RTI site, the only secondary school in the state of NV.
- Through the use of our STRIKE matrix, 92% of our students exceeded our PBS expectations to qualify for our 3rd qrt reward.
- Our leadership group raised $2500 for Make A Wish and sent a child to Orlando for his dream trip.
- Our leadership and JHO groups motivated our school to collect food, shoes and money to donate to our community.
- In preparation for the CRTs, tutoring occurred 2 days a week for targeted students from November till March.
- Saturday workshops occurred for both writing and math for any student in preparation for the 8th grade writing test and CRTs.
- In October, we partnered with our PTO and raised over $10,000 at our Fall Festival.
- Our band, strings and choir all received Superior ratings at their respective festivals.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
During 2010-11, 30% of our 8th grade students will be enrolled in Algebra I/II with 70% proficient on the CBE.
Objective(s):
Participation will be measured by the 8th grade Algebra I/II enrollment divided by the 8th grade count day enrollment to indicate 30%. Performance will be measured by the attainment of the 70% proficiency level target demonstrating a 12% increase over last year's performance.
Goal 2
During 2010-11, 68% of the overall 8th grade population will be proficient on the 8th grade writing exam.
Objective(s):
Performance will be measured by the attainment of the proficiency levels of the Hispanic population at 51%, the IEP population at 20% and the FRL population at 55%. These are all increases over last year's performance.
Goal 3
During 2010-11 69% of the overall 8th grade population will be proficient on the 8th grade reading CRT exam.
Objective(s):
Perfomance will be measured by the attainment of the proficiency levels of the Hispanic population at 48%, the IEP population at 23% and the FRL population at 44%. These are all increases over last year's performance.
