Billinghurst staff continued the 3 year Professional Development Plan, focusing on Tier 1 intervention and literacy during early release.- 446 students received a 3.5 or higher GPA on their first semester report card.
- Katie Fillion won the Patriot Pin Essay Contest. Chaeyoung Lee was News Channel 4's Class Act Award Winner, January 2011.
- Choir and Strings were recognized for superior scores in the Nevada All State music competition.
- 76% of Billinghurst's 8th graders were proficient on the 8th grade writing test. Last year, 70.5% were proficient.
- Billinghurst had a 96.2% pass rate on the 1st semester Algebra CBE. First in the district.
- Our student body raised $2800 for the Lymphoma/Lukemia Foundation, and $1800 for former student, J.P. Avilla.
- 3 students won Silver Key Awards in the Scholastic Arts Awards.
- Ms. Coullahan received the International Reading Association's Celebrate Literacy Award.
- Mrs. Crawford earned $500 from the Run From Education Program for the Way Too Cool 6th Grade School.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Student reading proficiency to meet or exceed site based targets in the 2010-2011 school year as measured by State CRT's.
Objective(s): Proficiency will be measured by 8th grade reading CRT scores. During the 2010-2011 school year, 79% of 8th grade students will meet standards, 32% of which will exceed standards in reading. Subgroups will be measured by their established targets.
Goal 2 Student writing proficiency will increase to meet or exceed established site based targets in the 2010-2011 school year.
Objective(s): Proficiency will be measured by the 8th grade state writing examination. 71% will meet standards, 9% of which will exceed standards in writing.
Goal 3 Algebra participation and proficiency will increase in 8th grade during the 2010-2011 school year,
Objective(s): Participation will be measured by 27% of student body enrolled in algebra. 87% of those students will pass the algebra Credit By Exam.
