O'Brien continues to lead the way when it comes to working for students. Our advisory, RTI, PBS, clubs, extracurricular, academic and celebratory programs are second to none.- The O'Brien Response to Intervention program has drawn rave reviews from district officials.
- Our PRIDE Matrix has now been copied by multiple secondary schools as the model to follow for PBS.
- Once again, our music performance programs received excellent ratings at district festivals.
- O'Brien has secured funding for a full-time instructional coach to help improve classroom instruction in all subjects.
- The entire staff has been SIOP trained and has scored top marks for implementation of these researched-based techniques.
- The O'Brien ALM program is still a model for all other middle schools to follow.
- All sports teams had very successful and winning seasons, including a top-rated boys 8th grade basketball team.
- O'Brien supported 10 full-functioning, student-created clubs of all varieties to get everyone involved with school.
- The staff supported 6 data-driven committies which focused on student learning and achievement.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
Increase the number of students proficient in mathematics as measured by scores on criterion-referenced tests.
Objective(s):
Students identified as Emergent/Developing or Approaches Standard in mathematics will improve computation, problem solving, and algebraic skill by utilizing the latest in technology and enhanced individualized instruction in small class settings.
Goal 2
Increase the number of students proficient in reading as measured by scores on criterion-referenced tests.
Objective(s):
Students identified as Emergent/Developing or Approaches Standard in reading will improve their skills in vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency by utilizing the latest technology in these areas and enhanced indiviualized instruction in small class settings.
Goal 3
Increase the number of students proficient in writing as measured by scores on CRT's and the Analytic Writing Test.
Objective(s):
All students will improve their writing skills with increased focus on the writing process, writing traits, and a school-wide emphasis on writing across the curriculum.
