Sparks Middle School has had another amazing year as we continue to show growth in all areas both academically and behaviorally.- Sparks Middle School was made a School of Choice this year as a result of our test data, maintaining gains in all areas.
- All students were benchmarked using MAP, and were then placed in targeted RTI support classes based on results.
- PLATO, Read 180, ELLIS, System 44, Study Island and support classes for Math and ELA helped many students grow academically.
- A Tier 3 teacher was hired to provide the most intensive targeted interventions for students identified through RTI.
- CICO, Social Skills Class, BAM, & targeted counseling groups helped students with behavioral and attendance concerns improve.
- As a Tier 2 PBS school there have been many gains evidenced by student behavior aligning with school wide expectations.
- The 21st Century Grant provided after school tutoring, study skill help, enrichment activities and family days.
- Hundreds of students were honored at Honor Roll breakfasts, Sparks B.E.S.T. mixer, and UNR's Silver Scholar program.
