Clayton targeted increased student achievement with its Pre-AP Academy. This Academy advances rigor through focused instruction, positive behavior supports, community alliances, and technology.
  • Staff was SLF trained to promote clear communication of standards-based essential questions and use of assessment data.
  • The 21st C. grant funded the TEAM UP after school program, which offers both academic and enrichment classes.
  • The Positive Behavior Support Team continued to implement procedures to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors.
  • The Intervention Assistance Team utilized academic data to provide targeted interventions to students using the RTI model.
  • Enrichment time was used to provide reading, writing, math, and behavior expectation instruction to all throughout the year.
  • RAMP trained counselors developed and taught lessons related to bullying and harassment prevention.
  • Partnerships were established with local high schools and colleges to promote a college-bound focus for ALL.
  • “Adopt a Cub” program provided mentoring and relationship building between at risk students and teachers throughout the year.
  • Staff was trained on Pre-AP strategies and practices to promote advanced rigor, critical thinking & backwards lesson design.
