Mission Statement
High Desert Montessori School is dedicated to providing a nurturing community of learners. We empower children's self-construction; spark their imagination; and instill a life-long love of learning.

Highlights
High Desert Montessori School provides a safe, nurturing school environment that fosters student independence, community and problem-solving skills. We are proud of our accomplishments this year.
  • Our middle school program expanded to 61 students and we moved to a nice campus that allows us to better meet student needs.
  • HDMS proudly achieved “Public School Associated” status from the American Montessori International Accreditation Committee.
  • Our schoolcontributed vastly to environmental projects such as: recycling, Urban Roots, Hoop Houses and green power.
  • Our student NWEA tests occurred (3) times during the year. This data allows us to monitor progress and provide remediation.
  • The quality of “Parent Education Nights” was improved to include excellent speakers. A bilingual parent presentation was held.
  • HDMS staff continue to be highly trained in Montessori teaching methods. Several teachers attend AMI programs in the summer.
  • Students have won regional awards in science fair, legos and bridge. Several MS students will take the algebra CBE exam.
  • Enrichment programs have been a great success this year. ESL, RTI and special education support programs have been expanded.
  • School-wide initiatives involving writing instruction and positive behavior supports were implemented at all levels.
