Hunsberger ES continues to foster respectful, responsible, positive problem solvers. Using numerous strategies to improve achievement, students and staff strive for excellence.- Successful third year implementation of the Positive Behavior Support Program.
- All students’ academic needs are being met through an Intervention Block focusing on skill differentiation.
- 89% of our third graders and 91% of our fifth graders met or exceeded standard asmeasured by state CRT reading test.
- 95% of our third graders and 99% of our fifth graders met or exceeded standards as measured by the state CRT math test.
- 100% of our staff used data to progress monitor their students and adjusted instruction accordingly.
- 100% of our staff are active members of a Professional Learning Community to discuss student achievement.
- 100% of our staff participated in staff development to improve students’ writing skills.
- Received the Gold Star Exceptional Student Award.
- Successful implementation of MAP to monitor students’ academic growth.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Increase reading comprehension proficiency of all students by the end of 2010-2011 school year as measured by state CRTs.
Objective(s): Increase the percentage of students meeting and exceeding the reading standards from 89% to 92% in 3rd grade and 91% to 94% in 5th grade with emphasis on those who are non-proficient.
Goal 2 Increase writing proficiency of all 5th grade students, as measured by the Nevada State Writing Proficiency Exam.
Objective(s): Increase writing proficiency of all 5th grade students from 74% to 81% with special focus on our special education students.
Goal 3 Increase math proficiency of all students by the end of the 2010-2011 school year as measured by the state CRTs.
Objective(s): Increase the percentage of students meeting and exceeding the math standards from 93% to 95% in 3rd grade and from 98% to 99% in 5th grade with emphasis on those who are non-proficient.
