The Washoe County School District sets out to create an education system where all students achieve academic success, develop personal and civic responsibility, and achieve career and college readiness for the 21st century. |

The 2010-2011 school year has been one of celebration for Donner Springs ES. We have continued successful collaborations and started new partnerships to help increase student achievement.- Made AMAO for the second consecutive year
- Received WCSD Bronze Star Award for Improving Student Achievement, Strong Performance in One Academic Area-Math
- Continued partnership with VanWoert & Bigotti Architects as well as beginning a partnership with the Boys and Girls club
- Implemented the Fruit and Vegetable Grant providing snacks each Friday for students in PK through sixth grades
- Counselor worked with CIT families to provide support at holidays and throughout the year
- Implemented PBS and quarterly recognition for attendance and citizenship; entered the second year of conflict manager program
- Collaborated with Basalite and Home Depot to construct an on-site greenhouse
- Implemented a Preschool Two-Way Language Immersion (TWI) program, full day TWI Kindergarten, and TWI first grade
- Supported student health by implementing a 2nd grade fluoride program and a visit from the St. Mary’s Dental Van

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 ELA: Increase student achievement in all groups with specific focus on LEP, Hispanic/Latino, IEP and FRL populations
Objective(s): At least 58% of 3rd graders, 47% of 5th graders, and at least 63.8% of all students will meet or exceed the target scores as measure by the Nevada Reading CRT and the District/classroom universal screening measures
Goal 2 Math: Increase student achievement in all groups with specific focus on LEP, Hispanic/Latino, IEP and FRL populations
Objective(s): At least 34% of 3rd graders, 75% of 5th graders, and at least 65.9% of all students will meet or exceed the target scores as measure by the NevadaMath CRT and the District/classroom universal screening measures
Goal 3 Writing: Increase student achievement in all groups with specific focus on LEP, Hispanic/Latino, IEP and FRL populations
Objective(s): At least 38% of 5th graders will meet or exceed the target scores as measure by the Nevada Writing Proficiency Test.
