The Washoe County School District provides each student the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education in a safe and challenging environment in order to develop responsible and productive citizens for our diverse and rapidly changing community. |

Caughlin Ranch School met AYP requirements for the 2008-2009. 79.2% of 5th graders met or exceeded the writing standard on the CRTs. This is an increase of 15.7% pts from last year.- All fifth grade students participate in the "We The People" program.
- The proceeds from our 4th grade run student store are donated to local charities.
- Our school participates yearly in the Meridian Gold run for Education
- Our students and their families donate coats and holiday items to local families in need.
- Our students have opportunities to participate in after school art, chess and language classes.
- All of our students have an option to participate in piano, violin or guitar lessons.
- Our Honor Choir is made up of 100 4th, 5th and 6th graders. They compete in Music Festivals, and perform for the community .
- Our school has an wonderfully involved PTA and receives a variety of supports from the familes.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 To decrease the number of students at the approaching or emergent/developing proficiency level in reading on the CRT.
Objective(s): 10% of students identified as approaching or emergent/developing proficiency in reading will meet the AYP benchmark as measured on the CRT.
Goal 2 To decrease the number of students at the approaching or emergent/developing level in math as measured by the CRT.
Objective(s): 10% of students identified as approaching or emergent/developing proficiency in math will meet the AYP benchmark as measured on the CRT.
Goal 3 To decrease the number of 5th graders at the approaching or emergent/developing level in writing as measured on the CRT.
Objective(s): Our 5th grade students will increase CRT writing test scores by 10% in all trait categories.
