Mission Statement
The Washoe County School District sets out to create an education system where all students achieve academic success, develop personal and civic responsibility, and achieve career and college readiness for the 21st century.
 
Highlights
The cultural and socio-economic diversity at Incline Elementary School continues to grow. Our staff meets this challenge through best practices teaching techniques and professional development.
  • All certified teachers were trained by the International Baccalaureate Organization in the Primary Years Programme.
  • The Positive Behavior System is in it's second year of implementation to teach students to be Respectful, Responsible & Safe.
  • PTA Jog-a-Thon & STAR Follies raised funds to support a full-time PE teacher's salary, giving IES a top-notch program.
  • The PTA Reflections Art Contest had 4 students from IES go on to compete at the State Level.
  • 2 Regional Science Fair experiment awards were received by IES students.
  • 3 Regional Science Fair invention awards were received by IES students.
  • The new Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) computerized adaptive tests system was introduced to grades 1-5.
  • The new Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA2) was introduced as another reading diagnostic tool for teachers in grades K-2.
  • Girls on the Run program is in it's second year of operation to prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Improve student achievement in reading as measured by the WCSD Pathway performance indicators and Nevada Reading CRT.

Objective(s):
For the 2010-11, at least 72% of 3rd graders, 66% of 5th grades and at least 63.8% of all students will meet or exceed the target score as measured by the Nevada Reading CRT.

Goal 2
To improve student achievement in math as measured the WCSD Pathway performance indicators and Nevada Math CRT.

Objective(s):
For the 2010-11, at least 86% of the 3rd graders, 79% of the 5th graders, and at least 65.9% of all students will meet or exceed the target score as measured by the Nevada Math CRT.

Goal 3
To improve students achievement with specific focus on IEP, Hispanic, FRL & LEP populations on the Nevada Writing Test.

Objective(s):
For 2010-11, at least 55% of the 5th graders will meet or exceed the target score as measured by the Nevada Writing Proficiency Test.
