Mission Statement
The Washoe County School District provides each student the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education in a safe and challenging environment in order to develop responsible and productive citizens for our diverse and rapidly changing community.
 
Highlights
The cultural and socio-economic diversity at Incline Elementary School continues to grow. Our staff meets this challenge through best practices teaching techniques and professional development.
  • The SB 185 grant money funded one full time Literacy Coordinator in addition to the district funded position.
  • Full day Kindergarten was funded by the state as a continuation of what we previously had in place.
  • SB 185 funding provided the training of 13 additional members of our staff in the LindaMood-Bell Literacy process.
  • Our Positive Citizenship Reward program recognizes 11 students per week with PE equipment and school supplies.
  • 3 Regional Science Fair experiment awards were received by IES students.
  • 2 REgional Science Fair invention awards were received by IES students.
  • The PTA Reflections contest was very successful this year with 110 entries.
  • Jog-a-Thon and Star Follies raised funds to provide our full-time PE teacher's salary, creating a top notch program.
  • 5th grade Analytical Writing test scores improved by 5 percentage points, cumulatively.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
All students will read at grade level or above by the end of the thrid grade.

Objective(s):
Through professional development for teachers we will learn and use techniques for differentiating instruction.

Goal 2
ESL students will increase their achievement as a group by three percent.

Objective(s):
WCSD ESL trainers will provide professional development for teachers on using classroom techniques to enhance instruction.

Goal 3
All students will meet or exceed district standards in Math.

Objective(s):
Identify all students who are non-proficient and develop a plan to increase each student's performance on math assessments.
