The Washoe County School District provides each student the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education in a safe and challenging environment in order to develop responsible and productive citizens for our diverse and rapidly changing community. |

Pleasant Valley continues to meet standards for state accountability. Our writing scores improved another 6.8%. We added two more interactive whiteboards bringing our total to eight.- PTA funded our P.E. program, homework folders, computer room upgrades, two assemblies and a supplemental math program.
- The PTA Stampede brought family and community together and exceeded fundraising expectations.
- Our Family Writing Night, Science Night and back to school BBQ had over 200 participants at each event.
- Fundraisers will allow us to purchase two more interactive whiteboards getting us closer to our goal of 100%
- “Can the Principal” brought in 1,096 lbs. of food for our needy families in our community.
- Spanish continues to be taught in our afterschool program.
- Our two movie nights brought families and community together for fun activities.
- Two book fairs added to our funding for books, speakers and assemblies.
- The entries for our Science Fair doubled over last year’s participation.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 All students, especially those in disaggregated groups, will demonstrate growth in the area of writing,
Objective(s): Writing scores for State Analytical writing will increase to seventy-five percent of the students being proficient
Goal 2 Students below grade level in content subjects of reading and math will be provided appropriate interventions.
Objective(s): Ninety percent of all students will be proficient, as measured by the Houghton Mifflin Tests and district assessments.
Goal 3 All students referred to RTI will be given thorough accommodations and support.
Objective(s): Ninety percent of the students in the RTI process, will demonstrate substantial growth to within one year of their academic year. Ten percent who do not demonstrate substantial growth will be referred for Special Education Supports
