Mission Statement
The Washoe County School District provides each student the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education in a safe and challenging environment in order to develop responsible and productive citizens for our diverse and rapidly changing community.
 
Highlights
Lincoln Park continues to have high expectations for all learners. Our programs and activities are all geared toward the success and needs of our diverse population.
  • The Success for All Reading Comprehensive School Reform Program continued to build life-long readers.
  • Lincoln Park continued the Read 180 Program to help increase the reading levels of our students.
  • A second literacy/intervention block and math block were scheduled to further focus instruction and learning time.
  • The bi-monthly PLC program allowed teachers additional time to focus on student achievement.
  • Lincoln Park successfully used the RTI model for research based intervention and data collection for struggling students.
  • In response to parent surveys a PE teacher was hired.
  • Participation in the various running events, soccer team, and weekly PE activities showed a commitment to fitness.
  • The 21st Century "Team-Up" after school program continued to help increase students' learning opportunities.
  • Professional development such as SFA conferences, writing workshops and GLAD trainings were attended by staff.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
All students at Lincoln Park, especially our LEP, IEP and FRL students will increase their skills in ELA.

Objective(s):
Lincoln Park will increase the number of students proficient on the State CRT Reading test taken in the 2008-2009 school year by 10%. In 2007-2008, 48% of our students were proficient, in IEP 36% were proficient, in LEP 42% were proficient and in FRL 44% were proficient.

Goal 2
All students at Lincoln Park will increase their skills in writing.

Objective(s):
Fifty percent of all Fifth Grade students will perform in the proficient range on the Analytic Writing Assessment in the 2008-2009 school year compared to 33% in the 2007-2008 school year.

Goal 3
All students at Lincoln Park, especially our IEP students, will increase their proficiency in math.

Objective(s):
Lincoln Park will increase the number of students proficient on the State Math CRTs taken in the 2008-2009 school year by 10%. In 2007-08, 63% of our students were proficient school-wide, in IEP 52% were proficient.
