Florence Drake Elementary School continues to improve in the areas of student achievement parental involvement and student conduct. The following contributed to the school’s continued success:- Florence Drake was awarded over $12,000 from the State of Nevada for our computer based after-school tutorial program.
- The Drake Family contributed over $1,000 for school literacy and mathematics materials.
- We hosted our annual Math and Literacy Nights providing families with supportive materials/games.
- Drake hosted Space Day in cooperation with The Challenger Center. Over 300 students participated in this event.
- We used our early-release days to implement the district sponsored SLF program for improved instruction.
- Over 100 students participated in the before/after school tutoring program
- Over 80 students participated in our science fair.
- Over 30 students participated in the Meridian Gold Run earning $3,000 for sports equipment.
- The Building Contractors Board donated over $4,000 for a security fence enclosing the school.

Objective(s): Objective: Increase the number of proficient students in reading from each sub group by 10%.
Goal 2 Goal 2 Our goal is to increase student achievement in math.
Objective(s): Objective: Increase the number of proficient students in math from each sub group by 10%.
Goal 3 Goal 3 Our goal is to increase parent/staff communication and contact.
Objective(s): Objective: Increase parent communication/contact 10% as measured by parent conferences and greater community outreach.
