The staff of Alice Maxwell is dedicated to the education, well-being and self-esteem of every student. We value the diversity of our community and families.- 21st CCLC provided extended day academics and enrichment activities for over 100 students grades K-6.
- We continued to partner with the Costco Volunteer Reading program which supported emergent readers in grades 3-6.
- We provided a before school Compass Learning class for students who are scoring below grade level in grades 3-6.
- Additional writing instruction was provided for 20 fifth grade students after school.
- SB185 grant money funded 1.5 intervention teachers to support all grade levels.
- Using Title I funds, we continued to implement Success For All reading 90 minutes per day in grades K-6.
- Using Title I and ESL funds, we provided each grade level with a teacher's assistant to support students in academic areas.
- All staff was trained in SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) to provide support for language development.
- Our science fair had 85 particpants and three projects went to the Regional Science Fair.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students will increase reading proficiency in all grade levels.
Objective(s): The number of students in grades 3-6 scoring in the Meets or Exceeds category on the 2008-09 CRT will increase by 10%.
Goal 2 Increase writing proficiency in all grade levels by 2009 as measured by the State Analytic Writing Test.
Objective(s): The percent of students demonstrating proficiency on the 2008-09 5th grade writing assessment will increase by 10%.
Goal 3 Increase math proficiency in all grade levels.
Objective(s): Students in grades 3-6 who score in the Meets or Exceeds category will increase by 10%.
