Student achievement and sustained staff development reflect this year’s accomplishments. Snapshots of Corbett’s distinctive activities are as follows:- Writing proficiency test results increased by 16.60%.
- Krystal Manzano, Ruby Mora, Deysi Chavez, and Guadalupe Maravilla won the annual reading contest.
- Edwin Cisneros Rodriguez won the WCSD third grade bookmark contest.
- Andres Limon’s essay was published on WritingFix website.
- Four third grade students attended Northern Nevada Writing Project’s poetry workshop.
- We added 500 new books to our Library and students received five books from state grant monies.
- Ms. Frances Nichols was honored by the WCSD Board of Trustees for her outstanding service.
- Ms. Denise McMurdo and Mrs. Jennifer Meier are training to become Math Recovery teachers.
- Fourteen teachers are taking ESL classes sponsored by the ESL Office to support student achievement.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 To increase reading and writing skills by utilizing standard-based instruction to meet targeted performance levels.
Objective(s): To meet or exceed the AYP target of 53.4 in English Language Arts by June, 2009.
Goal 2 To increase mathematic skills by utilizing standard-based instruction to meet targeted performance levels.
Objective(s): To meet or exceed the AYP of 57.4 in Mathematics by June, 2009.
Goal 3 To increase the number of parents participating in the Corbett learning community activities.
Objective(s): To increase parent attendance in activities by 5%.
