Melton staff continues to focus on student achievement and analyzing data with the help of a tracking program developed by Sherri Furr, one of our Melton parents.- We continued to offer a very successful tuition-based all-day kindergarten program.
- Our PFA continued to raise funds for a half-time certified P.E. teacher for our school
- Response to Intervention expanded to help students who need interventions in reading and math.
- Our 2nd, 4th and 5th grade students were ability grouped for reading and/or math instruction.
- We were able to purchase two interactive Promethean Whiteboards to boost technology and classroom instruction in our school
- Melton now has a total of 7 National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certified teachers.
- Behavior supports were created to help students respect others, respect themselves and have responsibility for their actions

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 To reduce the number of non-proficient students in Math by 10% as measured by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade CRT tests.
Objective(s): Reduce the number of non-proficient students in Math by 10% as measured by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade CRT tests.
Goal 2 Reduce the number of non-proficient students in English Language Arts by 10%.
Objective(s): Reduce the number of non-proficient students in English Language Arts by 10% as measured by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade CRT tests.
Goal 3 Using the RTI model, identify students in the bottom quartile for Tier II and Tier III interventions and evaluation.
Objective(s): Recognize and track the progress of students using various evaluations to show growth. Identify student skill deficits and provide interventions for these students as part of Tier II and III to ultimately move then into Tier I, which is grade level.
