Mission Statement
The Washoe County School District sets out to create an education system where all students achieve academic success, develop personal and civic responsibility, and achieve career and college readiness for the 21st century.

Highlights
Jessie Beck provides a nurturing, academically rigorous, and safe environment where all students will achieve academic success and divide responsibility.
  • We adopted the Positive Behavior Support program, encouraging students to act responsibly, respectfully, and safely.
  • Eight of our teachers embarked on ESL endorsements, supported by our PFA.
  • The staff focused on academic needs of our students with the aid of the Measured Academic Progress status norms.
  • Once again, the PFA funded an Art Coordinator who in turn assisted parent art volunteers to keep art alive in our school.
  • We completed our third year of the Two-Way Immersion WCSD Program, supporting a bilingual literate goal.
  • The PFA continued to equip our classrooms with interactive white boards by purchasing three more, including three laptops.
  • Through the Microsoft BING competition, another interactive white board was purchased.
  • Teachers posted requests for classroom supplies and PE equipment on the Donors Choose website and had their wishes fulfilled.
  • The Federal Edujobs Bill allowed us an additional one-year-only teacher to assist in improving academic success for students.
