The Washoe County School District provides each student the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education in a safe and challenging environment in order to develop responsible and productive citizens for our diverse and rapidly changing community. |

The 2008-2009 school year was filled with growth and accomplishment. Our school focus continued to be on scholastic achievement, safety, parent involvement, family support, and staff development.- The first and second grade teachers completed their GLAD training.
- Our Social Intervention Program completed its fourth year; most students are now main-streamed in regular education classes.
- Our music teacher organized and produced seasonal programs at every grade level.
- Our Parent Faculty Assocation purchased advanced instructional technology for our classrooms.
- The raw data on the State Fifth Grade Writing Assessment indicated that 64% of our students were proficient.
- We received a grant of $17,784 from the Washoe County Education Foundation to be used for after school literacy tutoring.
- Our PFA hosted several Friday Family Movie Night events to build on our school community. Each was well attended.
- Our PFA and staff worked together to provide food and gifts to our needy families during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Our Science Fair was successful with 150 projects submitted for judging. One team placed fourth in the State competition.

Goal 1 Increase the number of students meeting or exceeding proficiency on the State Math CRT.
Objective(s): The number of students identified as proficient will increase by 10% on the State Math CRT.
Goal 2 Increase the number of students meeting or exceeding proficiency on the State Reading CRT.
Objective(s): The number of students identified as proficient will increase by 10% on the State Reading CRT.
Goal 3 Increase the number of students meeting or exceeding proficiency on the State Fifth Grade Writing Assessment.
Objective(s): The number of students identified as proficient will increase by 10% on the State Fifth Grade Writing Assessment.
