Glenn Duncan continues to be a family oriented, community based school that focuses on the academic and social development of all students. All staff is committed to the success of all students.- We became a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) school to provide our students with 21st century skills.
- Technology was accessible to all students with the purchase of new laptops, iPads, iPods, and Promethean Boards.
- Implemented new reading series, LEAD 21, emphasizing science, social studies, technology and inquiry thinking
- ESL teachers enhanced their instruction to our ELL students by using the language-based program, Avenues.
- Offered on-site integrated PreKindergarten program for 3-5 year olds, providing students with language and readiness skills
- Janda Lannigan, 5th grade teacher, received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
- Increased family involvement with substantial attendance at evening events, such as Math, STEM, CRT, and RTI Nights
- Offered adult English class 4 days a week, 2 hours a day and weekly computer classes to Duncan parents
- TEAM Up after school program provided academic tutoring and enrichment activities to over 100 students

Objective(s): Increased proficiency on CRTS as reflected by the following: 3rd grade Math-46%, 5th grade Math-47%, 3rd grade ELA-32%, 5th grade ELA 42%, 5th grade writing-30% Schoolwide increased proficiency on CRTs as reflected by the following: 3rd-5th grade students ELA-44%/Math-53%
Goal 2 Positive school community, culture, and climate
Objective(s): By the end of 2010-11 school year, the number of discipline referrals will decrease by 10% as measured by SWIS
