Mission Statement
The Washoe County School District provides each student the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education in a safe and challenging environment in order to develop responsible and productive citizens for our diverse and rapidly changing community.
 
Highlights
Anderson Elementary School continues to focus on  increasing student success through collaboration, differentiation, and a focus on individual student needs.
  • Anderson continues to expect success and committment from all of our stakeholders!
  • Technology integration/differentiation and refinement continues to be a focus of our school.
  • An Intervention Assistance Team monitors students who need support to be successful and plans interventions accordingly.
  • Anderson utilized our SB185 grant to provide two bi-lingual aides for our full day Kindergarten classes.
  • Anderson staff have developed an evening English Learners Class for parents to better support their children. (SPEAK)
  • Anderson School participates in the Weed and Seed Program with the Reno Police and the Boys and Girls Club.
  • Quarterly Writing Festivals are held to celebrate school-wide writing and are sponsored by the Reno South Rotary.
  • “All Aces,” student of the month, and perfect attendance assemblies are held and are sponsored by Charter Communications.
  • Our collaboration  process continues to focus on student achievement with a focus on analyzing data.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Our goal is to increase school-wide reading proficiency.

Objective(s):
Students identified as approaching or developing proficiency in the content area of reading will increase their proficiency level by 10% as measured by the District/State Criterion Referenced Tests.

Goal 2
Our goal is to increase school-wide math proficiency.

Objective(s):
Students identified as approaching or developing proficiency in the content area of math will increase their math proficiency level by 10% as measured by the District/State Criterion Referenced Tests.

Goal 3
Our goal is to increase writing proficiency in all grades.

Objective(s):
Students identified as approaching proficiency in the content area of writing will increase their writing proficiency level by 10%, as measured by school-wide writing assessments and the State Analytic Writing Exam.
