The mission of Pioneer High School is to provide alternative routes to success for young adults in the Carson City School District. |

Student enrollment and the number of graduates continue to increase. PHS has experienced significant growth in enrollment from 2010 to 2011.- PHS was recognized by the Department of Education as a Nevada Highlighted School based on increased achievement.
- The graduation rate increased by 19.5% from 2009-2010 with a projected record number of graduates for 2011.
- Millennium Scholarship candidates for 2011 graduation increased by 10% and a second scholarship was added from a local family.
- With Carson Online, over 140 extra courses were added for secondary students in CCSD based at PHS.
- The Project Discovery and PHS partnership helped provide off campus activities and leadership development.
- Student driven volunteer projects included: Support packages to U.S. Soldiers, along with Food, Blanket, and Blood Drives.
- Staff specialties offered extra classes in: Law, Orienteering, Economics, Psychology, Construction, Logic, RockSport, and Yoga.
- Student recognition was increased and highlighted through a quarterly recommendation process from teachers
- PHS continues to successfully make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) with 83.9% transiency and 51% FRL.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students at Pioneer High School will improve their performance in mathematics.
Objective(s): Pioneer High School students will increase their proficiency in math in all subgroups as measured by the 2011-2012 HSPE. The leadership team will review the current proficiency math curriculum focusing on its alignment with the state standards and core curriculum.
Goal 2 Students at Pioneer High School will improve their performance in reading and language arts (ELA).
Objective(s): Pioneer High School students will increase their proficiency in all subgroups in ELA as measured by the 2011-2012 HSPE.
