Excellent Values Maximum Success is EVMS's motto.- EVMS received the 1003 (g) Remediation Grant which focused on establishing common units of instruction and assessments.
- Two Implementation Specialists were hired under the the 1003(g) Grant and work with teachers refining their instruction.
- The SOAR after-school program grew with a variety of remediation and enrichment classes being offered for our students.
- A Parent Engagement Liaison was hired and coordinated many parent involvement activities for the benefit of our students.
- A Community Engagement Night was held which highlighted our partnership with various community resources and organizations.
- Leadership class coordinated a shoe drive and donations for Food for Thought, as well as recognition events for our veterans.
- 6th Grade Students took the lead during parent conferences in reporting their success, goals, and work.
- Academic Strategies class was refined and used as an additional 25 minute instructional period based on student's MAP scores.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
To increase student achievement in Math and English by creating common units of study and common assessments.
Objective(s):
Teachers will plan with colleagues to create and utilize common units of study and common assessments. These will be used to provide consistency within curricular departments, therefore establishing consistent expectations and assessments that directly support and assess the Nevada Standards.
Goal 2
To provide additional instructional time for students within the current daily timeframe.
Objective(s):
RIT scores from the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessments in Reading and Math will be used to provide specific, targeted instruction and interventions for students during Academic Strategies class. All certified staff will teach this additional 25- minute instructional class.
Goal 3
To increase parental and community involvement.
Objective(s):
Parent and community resources will be coordinated for increased involvement and support. This will be accomplished by creating a Community Stakeholder's Group that will help provide resources, time and involvement in after-school programs and during the regular instructional day.
