Mission Statement
The mission of Pahrump Valley High School is to instill in its students the knowledge, skills, and values they will need to excel in our ever-changing society. The school will work to create an environment in which every student is encouraged to explore and develop to his or her fullest potential.
 
Highlights
At Pahrump Valley High School ourNinth Grade Academy successfully assimilates students into our high school culture, whilePVHS continues to engage students and promote their academic success.
  • PVHS developed a Science Applications course for students needing additional instruction to pass the Science NHSPE.
  • PVHS developed a Physical Science course allowing non-honor students an opportunity to earn three years ofalabscience.
  • We offer Credit Recovery for credit deficient students.
  • PVHS offers a Music Appreciation course providing students with an understanding of the value and merit of music.
  • PVHS offersa Nursing Assistant program allowing students an opportunity for career development and immediate employment.
  • A large variety of clubs and service organizations are offered to engage students in the PVHS community.

Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
All students will increase achievement in math as measured by the NWEA or the NHSPE.

Objective(s):
Based on 11th grade NHSPE results, the passing percentage of students on the math section will grow from 74.3% to 79.5%. Based on the 9th grade NWEA results, students hitting the growth target for math will increase by 4%.

Goal 2
All students will increase achievement in English and Language Arts as measured by the NWEA or the NHSPE.

Objective(s):
Based on 11th grade NHSPE results, the passing percentage of students in reading will grow from 91% to 93% and writing will grow from 79% to 84%.Based on the 9th grade NWEA results, students hitting the growth target in reading will increase by 4%.

Goal 3
Student attendance at PVHS will improve to 95%.

Objective(s):
Student attendance at PVHS will improve from 90 % to 95%.
