Mission Statement

Mineral County High School will integrate cross-curricular collaboration and critical thinking to achieve academic, technological and soft skill development through engaging curriculum and differentiated instruction.

 
Highlights

During the 10-11 Northwest Association of Accredited Schools renewal, we were complimented on our commitment of a rigorous school culture focused on achievement & success for each child.

  • MCHS students consistently match Nevada state average in standards in Writing HSPE and fall within the 90th percentile for passing annually.
  • MCHS students demonstrated an 11.2% growth in Science achievement in the Science HSPE, and at 78.4% passing exceeds the Nevada state average by 1.6%.
  • MCHS students demonstrated a 20% growth in Math achievement in the Math HSPE, matching the Nevada state average of 71.7%.
  • MCHS students consistently meets, or exceeds, the Nevada state average in standards for the Reading HSPE and fall within the 90% for passing annually.
  • MCHS athletic program options: Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Track, Golf and Cheerleading.
  • MCHS Extra-Curricular options: National Honor Society, FCCLA, Yearbook, Ski, Academic Olympics, Student Council, Poetry Out Loud, Gear Up, & Pep Band.

Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
MCHS will increase its daily average attendance rate, from 92.1% to 95%.

Objective(s):
MCHS will increase its achievement level on the Nevada HSPE’s, graduation rate and decrease credit deficiencies for all students.

Goal 2
MCHS will focus on instructional strategies that serve to increase student interest and engagement.
