The mission of Hawthorne Elementary School is to promote high levels of learning for all students in an atmosphere of trust, understanding, and mutual respect. Our goal is to provide all of our students with a solid foundation of skills, knowledge, and values and to help all students reach their individual potential. |

Hawthorne Elementary School is a professional learning community committed to student growth, student engagement at high levels, and student ownership of their actions and learning.- Teachers focus on student learning with an emphasis on high levels of engagement.
- Our professional learning community approach ensures that teachers work collaboratively to address student needs.
- Teachers host Learning Showcase Nights to highlight the wonderful learning opportunities which are engaging our students.
- The principal hosts monthly Incentive Days to recognize students for specific academic, behavior, and attendance criteria.
- HES implemented our Rocket Pride program which encourages and recognizes students for exhibiting positive character traits.
- The principal holds quarterly awards assemblies and activities to recognize our students for honor roll and attendance.
- Our 5th grade teachers departmentalize to provide students with consist specialized content instruction.
- HES has full day kindergarten, half day preschool, and 21st Century after school tutoring for remediation and enrichment.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 HES will work to increase parent involvement and education.
Objective(s):
HES will increase parent involvement and education by 25% by hosting regular Learning Showcase Nights, quarterly Parent-Teacher Conferences that focus on assessments and growth, distributing monthly newsletters, hosting parent workshops, and making 2-5 positive parent/family contacts per week.
Goal 2 HES will work to increase student achievement in ELA.
Objective(s): HES will increase student achievement in ELA by 10% as measured by the Nevada CRTs in grades 3 and 5 by scheduling D.E.A.R. time daily, utilizing Accelerated Reader to enhance/monitor reading progress, and plan daily writing and reading instruction focusing on expository texts in every classroom.
Goal 3 HES will work to increase student achievement in Mathematics.
Objective(s): HES will increase student achievement in Mathematics by 10% as measured by the Nevada CRTs in grades 3 and 5 by using PLC time to identify critical standards, utilizing Accelerated Math to enhance/monitor individual mastery of objectives, and emphasize key vocabulary during mathematics instruction.
