Highlights
Silver Stage High School's graduation rate, improved proficiency data, school improvement efforts and commitment to technology are a testament of the dedication of the highly qualified SSHS staff.
  • • High School Proficiency Reading 1stTime Pass Rate is 87.4%.This is an improvement of 9.9% over the previous year.
  • • The HSPE Math 1stTime Pass Rate has shown a dramatic improvement; it is 11.9% over the previous year.
  • • 52.6% of the students at SSHS exceed the Nevada Standards in reading.
  • • 91.3% of the students were proficient on the 2010 HSPE in reading.
  • • SSHS has made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the past 6 years.
  • The High School Proficiency (HSPE) Reading 1st Time Pass Rate is 87.4%. This is an improvement of 9.9% over last year.
  • SSHS has 3 class labs, 2 mobile laptop labs, 1 media center; and computers, projectors and audio enhancement in every room.
  • 100% of teachers are highly qualified in their content area.
  • 100% of seniors have successfully applied to college, the number of juniors and seniors taking the ACT/SAT has increased.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Students will improve in English Language Arts to meet or exceed proficiency targets measured by the MAP and 2011 HSPE.

Objective(s):
Students whose performance in reading/writing expository text is at or above targets defined by HSPE testing will increase by a minimum of 5% to increase or maintain proficiency. Non-proficient and special education students performing below targets will demonstrate a 10-15% increase in reading.

Goal 2
Students will improve in mathematics to meet or exceed proficiency targets measured by the MAP and 2011 HSPE.

Objective(s):
Students whose performance in number sense/measurement is at or above targets defined by HSPE mathematics testing, will increase by a minimum of 8-12% to increase or maintain proficiency. Non-proficient and special education students performing below targets will demonstrate a 10-15% increase.

Goal 3
Students will increase the ability to answer Depth of Knowledge Level 2 and 3 questions within all core content areas.

Objective(s):
Non-proficient students will increase their ability to answer DOK Level 2 and DOK 3 questions by a minimum of 5%. Non-proficient and special education students performing below targets will demonstrate a 10-15% increase to close their achievement gap.
