SSMSinstituted "500 Club"honoring students achieving a perfect CRTscore.- Four Future Cities Club students traveled to Las Vegas with their projectand were awarded second place for their efforts.
- SSMS was a top 10 finalist in Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow National Contest receivingmore than $50,000 in technology.
- SSMS works collaboratively with Boys & Girls Club, increasing academic & social success for all students..
- All SSMS students receive remediation and/or enrichment during the school day.
- 100% teacher retention rate.
- SSMS has met the NV Proficiency target for reading for the last 3 years, increasing performance 56.3% to 58.2% to 64.7%.
- All SSMS students in grade 8 achieved proficiency in all areas of writing, Ideas, Organization, Voice, & Conventions.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
Every SSMS student, will meet or exceed reading & writing proficiency or safe harbor targets on CRT's.
Objective(s):
Reading will increase 5-10% based on subgroups performing at or above targets. Subgroups performing below targets will increase 15-20% based on previous performance.Targeted IEP, LEP, & FRL students will meet their individual MAP growth targets.
Goal 2
Every SSMS student, will meet or exceed math proficiency or safe harbor targets on CRT's.
Objective(s):
Math will increase 5-10% based on subgroups performing at or above targets. Subgroups performing below targets will increase 15-20% based on previous performance.Targeted IEP, LEP, & FRL students will meet their individual MAP growth targets and the ability to answer DOK 2&3 questions correctly.
Goal 3
Special attention to Depth of Knowledge levels targeting IEP, LEP, & FRL.
Objective(s):
Meet MAP growth targets in word analysis, reading strategies, expository, literary text, math strands, number sense, and computation, algebra, measurement, geometry, and data analysis. Student's ability to answer DOK 2&3 questions correctly on CRT's to meet AYP proficiency.
