Our mission at Riverview Elementary School is to provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment that promotes active life-long learning so that students will be successful and have a positive impact on the world around them. |

The 2010-11 school year was Riverview Elementary School's fourth year of operation. During this school year, a number of significant accomplishments were achieved:- The percentage of students proficiency on the district reading test increased from 38% in September to 70.7% in February.
- The percentage of students proficiency on the district math test increased from 40% in September to 70% in February.
- Student writing performance increased from 45% proficient in the fall to 71% proficient in the spring.
- Teachers worked to increase students' depth of knowledge by using effective teaching practices throughout the year.
- The RES Booster Club raised funds to improve our playground and school programs, and provided other essential support.
- RES implemented the Instructional Consultation model. Twelve teachers received assistance to help their students succeed.
- A new Strategies program was started to assist students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Changes were made in our special education program to allow more support for eligible student in the regular classroom.
- After school tutoring was provided for 22 students to help increase their skills in reading and math.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Increase students' reading comprehension and reduce the number of nonproficient students in English and Language Arts.
Objective(s): Increase the number of English Language Learners (ELL) and IEP eligible students who pass the state reading assessment by 15 percent. Increase the overall number of students who pass the state reading assessment by 10 percent.
Goal 2 Increase the number of students that meet the grade level benchmark in math on the district math assessment.
Objective(s): The number of ELL and IEP students who meet the math benchmark will increase by at least 15 percent and the overall number of students meeting the benchmark will increase by at least 25 percent.
