Mission Statement
Battle Mountain High School involves students in engaging, relevant learning experiences that prepare students for a wide range of post-secondary opportunities.

Highlights
Through structured collaboration activities, the School Improvement Team (SIT) as well as the entire staff has used data to drive instruction as well as redesign our daily schedule.
  • We have added instructional minutes to all classes by returning to a semester schedule with six classes each day.
  • We have continued to provide targeted instruction in intervention classes for those students who have not yet passed any or all of the HSP exams.
  • We have added a daily mentoring/advisory for all 9th and 10th graders.
  • Our 1st time passage rate for last year’s 10th grade was over 90% in reading.
  • As a result of quality classroom instruction, proficiency classes as well as intervention classes, we made AYP.
  • We are participating in quarterly attendance committee meetings and are increasing our number of phone contacts to parents regarding attendance.
  • We are actively participating in a district-wide adoption of “Love and Logic” strategies to improve relationships, and climate.
  • We are testing all 9th and 10 grade students in MAP three times per year as well as any junior or senior who has not yet passed all of the HSPE.
  • Results are used along with other data to make instructional decisions.
