Sonoma Heights raised over $11,000 at their annual Family Fun Night fundraiser.- Sonoma participated in a series of safety drills to teach students how to react in emergency situations.
- Five teachers at Sonoma participated on the District Leadership Team.
- Sonoma celebrated reading week with fun activities, an author visit, and poetry contest.
- Sonoma continues to utilize the MAP testing, DRA testing, and data team process to assist with student instruction.
- TheIC processis utilizied toenhance, improve, and increase student and staff performance.
- Sonoma staff participated in high quality professional development focused on writing.
- Newmont Mining Corporation volunteered their time to teach students about Mine Rescue.
- Nevada Outdoor school continued to teach wonderful science base lessons for Kindergarten through Fourth grade.
- Sonoma families completed an online survey which allowed our school to have technology services increased at our site.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students at Sonoma Heights will demonstrate growth in reading for the 2010-2011 school year.
Objective(s): (1) 100% of the entire school will demonstrate growth in reading using the DRA, MAP, PALs, or Edmark as indicators of growth. (2) Sonoma students will master their literacy growth goals. (3) 63.8% of each AYP subgroup will score in the Meets or Exceeds range on the CRT assessment.
Goal 2 Students at Sonoma Heights will demonstrate growth in math for the 2010-2011 school year.
Objective(s): (1) 100% of Sonoma students will demonstrate growth in math as measured by district and school assessments. (2) 80% of all grades K-4th will meet their smart goals in data teams. (3) 65.9% of the AYP subgroups in 3rd and 4th grade will meet or exceed standards on the CRT assessment.
Goal 3 Students at Sonoma Heights will demonstrate growth in writing for the 2010-2011 school year.
Objective(s): 100% of Sonoma students will demonstrate growth as measured by the K-4 grade level writing rubrics for the 2010-2011 school year.
