The Esmeralda County School Board, Teachers, Administrators, and Dyer Elementary School Staff believe that every student can learn and achieve. It is the purpose of the school board, teachers, administrators, and staff, with the support of parent/guardians to teach, guide, and assist students toward acquiring skills in academic, occupational, and social areas. We feel these skills are essential for choosing success and making positive contributions to society. Our job is to teach, guide, and assist all individuals with skills and plans for success in learning, working, and living. |

The Fish Lake Valley Community has displayed strong support for its school in Dyer. The school experiences active parental involvement at parental conferences, open houses, and other activities.- Dyer Elementary School students have a high rate of school attendance.
- Dyer Elementary was recognized by the State as a high achieving Title I school in 2009-2010.
- For seven consecutive years, Dyer Elementary School has made adequate yearly progress.
- Dyer Elementary School has experienced continuity in the teaching staff.
- Dyer Elementary School utilizes highly developed technology in every classroom on a daily basis.
- Math scores have improved twenty-eight percent and reading scores have improved twenty-four percent according to CRT results
- The school uses Star Reading, Star Math, MAPS, and Success Maker programs to assess and identify student needs.
- The electronic white boards in each classroom permit teachers to access the internet and display lessons for all students.
- The non-traditional calendar significantly helps with scheduling staff training throughout the year.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
Diagnose student areas of deficiency in math and target those areas to increase the passing rate on the CRTs and ITBS.
Objective(s):
Dyer Elementary School will achieve at least a ten percent increase in the passing rate in grades 3-8 CRT test scores. In grades K-2, Dyer Elementary will achieve at least ten percent increase in the passing rate for math on the ITBS tests.
Goal 2
Diagnose areas of deficiency in language arts and target those areas to increase the passing rate on the CRT’s and ITBS
Objective(s):
Dyer Elementary will achieve at least a 10 percent increase in the passing rate for reading and writing in grades 3-8 CRT test scores. In grades K-2, Dyer Elementary will achieve at least a ten percent increase in the passing rate for reading on the ITBS tests.
Goal 3
Diagnose student areas of deficiency in science and target those areas to increase the passing rate on the CRT test.
Objective(s):
Dyer Elementary School will achieve at least a ten percent increase in the passing rate in fifth and eighth grade CRT test scores.
