Southside Elementary is a Preschool-4 grade Title I School with an enrollment of 485 KG – 4th grade students and another 40 preschool students.- Southside Elementary has a preschool that is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young People.
- Eight teachers at Southside Elementary have received National Board Certification.
- Southside Elementary offers full day Kindergarten
- Southside Elementary offers after school tutoring and homework services through the 21st Century Program.
- Southside Elementary instruction is literacy based and focused on improved reading and writing.
- In order to become better teachers, staff have regular professional development every Friday.

Goal 1
Students will show an increase in math scores
Objective(s):
Students, particularly Low SES, LEP, Hispanic and White subgroups, in grades 3-4 will show an increase in math scores as measured by the state CRT by the end of the 2010-2011 school year.
Goal 2
All students will increase their Reading proficiency
Objective(s):
Students, particularly Low SES, LEP, Hispanic and White subgroups, in grades 3-4 will show an increase in reading scores as measured by the state CRT by the end of the 2010-2011 school year.
Goal 3
All students will increase their Writing proficiency.
Objective(s):
Students, in grades K-4 will show an increase in writing scores as measured by school site assessments throughout the 2010-2011 school year.
