It is the mission of Jacobsen High School to provide students a meaningful and useful educational experience that creates and inspires academic achievement, confidence, discipline, positive social skills and physical wellness. Students will be prepared for a successful transition back to their homes, schools, careers, and communities. |

Jacobsen High School staff has identified goals that address student achievement. Based upon these school improvement goals and objectives, the following outcomes have occurred:- The teaching staff have developed, implemented, and continue to revise thematic units aligned to State standards.
- JHS made its Adequate Yearly Progress in both participation and attendance.
- In 2009-2010, 74% of JHS students gained 1 academic year in 4 months in the content area of reading.
- In 2009-2010, 68% of JHS students gained 1 academic year in 4 months in the content area of mathematics.
- In 2009-2010, 58% of JHS students gained 1 academic year in 4 months in the content area of science.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Improve student achievement in reading skills, particularly those skills that extend students’ higher level thinking.
Objective(s): All students will gain at least 1 academic year in 4 months in reading on the Measure of Academic Progress.
Goal 2 Improve math skills, particularly those skills related to students’ CRT and HSPE performance.
Objective(s): All students will gain at least 1 academic year in 4 months in math on the Measure of Academic Progress.
Goal 3 Improve communication with parents when students transition back to their neighborhood school.
Objective(s): All parents will receive the communication sent by JHS.
