Jacks Valley Elementary promotes excellence in academics. You will find the school to be engaging, inclusive, stimulating, and challenging.- Technology is prominent and we are advancing students by learning 21st Century skills
- New sotfware programs have been implemented like Special Temporal Math
- We emphasize community building, Tribes, looping, and Love and Logic
- Common assessments are being developed in writing in every grade level
- We are lucky to have one tutor through Title I funding
- Interventions such as Math Club, Healthy Steps tutoring, Costco tutoring, Skills Tutor Club, and EDK are available
- Training this year took place in Thinking Maps-Write from the Beginning, Mental Math, and Cooperative Learning
- Extracurricular activities include Math Olympiads, band, hiking club, science club, student council, and News Club
- Service Learning Activities include a new garden, Pennies for Peace, Giving Tree, Toys for Tots, and Food Baskets

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
Jacks Valley Elementary School students will improve their achievement in reading and language arts.
Objective(s):
The Thinking Maps Write from the Beginning is being implemented with an emphasis on writing across the curriculum. A minimum of 90 minutes per day is spent in the area of reading and co-teachers are in place in every classroom.
Goal 2
Jacks Valley Elementary School students will improve their achievement in mathematics.
Objective(s):
The use of Spatial Temporal Math to increase students' conceptual understanding of mathematics is being used. Balanced Math components into all lessons. An emphasis on data analysis, writing logs, and math vocabulary are school-wide objectives in our school improvement plan.
Goal 3
Jacks Valley Elementary School will create a climate of caring and fairness amongst students, staff, and parents.
Objective(s):
The Community Building Committee meets monthly to establish a strong community of learners. A new recognition program called Jacks 5Es was implemented to promote respect and responsibility. Safe School Ambassadors, Bully Blockers, and Peace Patrol help create a safe environment.
