Mission Statement
To provide a sound and beneficial educational experience to our students with regard to the diversity of the JCS placement, procedure and operational parameters.
 
Highlights
Juvenile Court Schools is proud to highlight the following accomplishments:
  • A full-time special education facilitator position continued to serve all areas of the JCS program.
  • The JCS summer school program continued to serve one site with five instructors.
  • Individualized instruction in reading and mathematics was expanded in all JCS instructional areas.
  • Special education and English language learner services were expanded to meet the rising population of those students.
  • JCS staff assisted the detention administration in testing all inmates in reading, math, science, and writing proficiency.
  • JCS staff focused on compliance with the mandated testing program, as well as the academic achievement of students.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
JCS staff will comply with the mandated testing program, as well as the academic achievement of JCS students.

Objective(s):
Students attending classes for a minimum of 30 days will exhibit a 2 1/2% increase in reading and language arts mastery as measured by teacher assessment data.

Goal 2
Students will improve their performance in mathematics.

Objective(s):
Students who have attended a minimum of 30 days instruction will show a 2 1/2% increase in mathematics proficiency as measured by teacher assessment data.

Goal 3
Students will improve their behavior and their ability to solve conflicts.

Objective(s):
Students will improve their behavior and their ability to solve conflicts as measured by teacher maintained data, including referral data, anecdotal records and portfolios.
